Rare Sterling Silver Travelling Shaving Brush Box 1833 Antique Lambert Crested

Description

A rare English solid sterling silver travelling shaving brush. It is hallmarked for London 1833 with the makers marks being that of Thomas Diller. It has been superbly designed with the brush being made to fit into its handle. The handle and lid have been engraved with the crest used by the Gibbs and Hagley families. The base of the brush is engraved with the crest used by the Lambert family. Both crests have the same motto 'De bon vouloir servir le roi' meaning 'To serve the king with good will'. It is in super condition being free from dings splits holes and repairs. It measures approx. 5.25 inches (13.5cm) long including the brush when open by 1 inch (2.6cm) wide and over 3 inches (8cm) when close and has a combined weight of weighs 48 grams. A very high quality rare and unusual piece.
