This Victorian mahogany partners desk provides a functional workspace for a gentleman's library or a home study, measuring 75.5 cm high, 152.5 cm wide, and 105 cm deep. The piece presents a warm brown timber finish and stands upon a solid plinth base. A dark green leather writing surface rests on top, featuring a gilded border inset. The pedestals hold multiple small drawers fitted with round turned wooden knobs. Each side includes six drawers arranged around a central kneehole, accompanied by cupboards below. The drawer faces display horizontal grain patterns and key escutcheons above the knobs. The construction separates into three modular sections to facilitate transportation. Brass castors support the heavy wooden frame underneath. The surface displays subtle reflections from its polished finish and leather texture.

A partners desk is a double-sided writing desk originally designed in 19th-century Britain to allow two business partners or colleagues to work facing each other simultaneously.

Victorian partners desks were typically constructed from solid mahogany, walnut, or oak, featuring dovetail joinery, brass or turned wooden handles, and a gilded leather writing surface inset into the top.

Authentic Victorian partners desks often display hand-cut dovetail drawer joints, working locks with escutcheons on both sides, castors concealed beneath plinth bases, and natural wear to the timber.

Position the desk in the centre of a home office or study to highlight its double-sided construction, pairing it with contemporary task lighting and neutral seating to balance the dark timber tones.

Dust mahogany surfaces regularly with a soft cloth, apply beeswax sparingly along the grain, and clean the leather inset with a dedicated leather conditioner while avoiding direct heat sources.
