Description

An exquisite preserve dish which of course today could be used for almost anything, nuts, candy, chocolates or perhaps guest soaps in the guest bathroom.

The stand is beautifully engraved with a fern decoration, very English and very Victorian, the handle is made from turned Ebony. The stand sits on four original ball feet and the underside is hallmarked EPNS for Electro-Plated-Nickel-Silver.

The glass is totally original to the dish, beautifully cut crystal with the intricately cut base that sits into the oval aperture in the stand base.

Dating to around 1880, it remains in excellent undamaged condition. 6 1/4" x 5" x 5 " tall to top of handle. The dish measures 5 5/8" x 4 1/4".
