Description

This is a handsome elaborately decorated antique silver plated and cut glass beer or lemonade jug. Standing on a circular base that is cut vertically with ridges. The straight sides have two bands of cut glass of squares with crosses. A silver plated band is around the middle engraved with leaves and scrolls. This band is attached to the handle. The silver plated top is embossed with flowers and leaves around a vacant cartouche. A figural head of Bacchus adorns the pouring spout. A bearded man is applied to the handle. The finial is of a rampant lion. c.1880 British made. This has been replated.
