A Scarce Late 19th Century Set of 5 Ormolu Ecclesiastical Pricket Candlesticks

Description

Each of these elaborately decorated 19th Century pricket sticks is made from 7 separately cast parts and a spike. 3 of these spikes have been leaded into place and 2 of these appear to be replacements.

The gilding is marked and rubbed in places and there are some differences in the colouring in places. There is a very small hole in one of the drip pans, another drip pan is slightly off the level and the related collar beneath has a vertical crack of some 10mms running along part of the joint with the remainder of the joint holding firm.

Height of tallest 43.5cms. Base has a maximum width of some 14cms and a maximum depth of approximately 14.2cms.
