Antuique Tekke Turkmen Dip Khali Rug, Outstanding Condition, Circa 1900.

Description

Size: 5ft 11in x 4ft 2in (180 x 127cm).

Antique Tekke Turkmen ‘dip khali’ rug, with warm brown / red ground colour.

Circa 1900.

'Dip Kahli' are considered to be ‘half size’ rugs; half the length and half the width of a main carpet.

This example has 3 rows of 11 Tekke guls on a warm brown / red field, the borders are of the boxed 'sun burst' design with small stars. Note the original large elem panels at each end.

The rug is in outstanding condition with very slight even wear and full pile.

The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use or display. The rug is suitable for normal domestic use.
