Size: 7ft 9in x 4ft 11in (237 x 149cm).

Antique Qashqai tribal rug with small central medallion.

Circa 1890.

An outstanding Qashqai tribal rug with a small central medallion of a clear madder red field. The rug is covered with floral rosettes and tribal design elements radiating out from the central medallion. Each corner also has the Qashqai tribal medallion of a very light indigo blue ground. The colour combinations of the soft reds and blues combine really well giving the rug a soft and calm feel. The border is pomegranate flowers on a brown ground. The rug retains the original end finishes at both ends with long tassels at the top end and looped short tassels at the lower end.

The rug is in excellent condition with slight even wear and good pile, the rug is suitable for normal domestic use.

Hand washed and ready for use or display.
