Rare Large English Sterling Silver Rowing Oar Letter Opener 1934 Royal Navy

1920 - 1940
Description

A rare and unusual large English antique solid sterling silver letter opener. It is hallmarked for Birmingham 1934 with the maker’s marks being that of NA&AFI for the Navy, Army & Air Force Institute. It has been superbly designed being in the form of a rowing oar and engraved (Home Fleet Destroyers, Inter-Flotilla Regatta -1934-). It is in super condition being free from dings splits and repairs. It is large measuring approx. 11.5 inches (29.5cm) long by 0.5 inch (1.5cm) wide and weighs 50 grams. A very nicely designed example.
