Super Pair of Georgian Sterling Silver Berry Serving Spoons Antique Butterfly Cased 1814

Description

A beautiful cased pair of solid sterling silver serving spoons. One is hallmarked for London 1786 with the makers mark being rubbed and the other 1814 with the maker mark being that of Peter & William Bateman. They have been superbly designed being engraved with butterflies, the design was probably added c1870 to plain Georgian spoons when everything Japanese was the height of fashion. They are in superb condition being free from dings splits distortions and repairs. They measure approx. 8.75 inches (22cm) long by 1.75 inches (4.6cm) wide and have a combined weight of 108 grams excluding the case. A very good quality well made set.
