Description

A Superb George III Pierced Silver Basket by Philip Freeman, London 1779. The bottom of the basket is solid, while the rest is lovely hand pierced work seperated by bright cut engraving. Te centre has an engraved intelaced monogram contemporaneous with the item.

The rim of the basket has a flower design. This is a good size basket, suitable for use as a bread basket, displaying fruit, etc. The basket is 15cm high when hinged handle is raised. The piece ia in very good overall condition. Silvermarks for London 1779, Philip Freeman. Freeman was known for baskets and other pierced table items.
