The Silver Cabinet has dated this piece to the 1910s.
This striking lidded cup is solid silver, hallmarked on the base.
The inscription around the base reads: "27 shooting associations of the Baden-Palatinate Middle Rhine Shooting Association in Mannhein 5-12 July 1914".

The style is that of the beautiful 18th Century Grape Cups. Some of those are referred to as Pineapple Cups, but, given the finial on this particular piece, it is definitely a grape! The gilding inside is in fabulous condition and, overall, this is an elegant piece.

Dimensions:
Height: 28cm (including finial)
Diameter: 11cm
Silver Weight: 267g.
