Large English Hallmarked Solid Silver Square and Elegant Engraved Compact by Famous Makers Mappin and Webb.

Description

Lovely large English hallmarked solid silver compact, made in Birmingham 1948 by Mappin and Webb, famous makers.

This very good quality square compact is large and engraved on all sides, including the full length invisible jewellers hinge. It opens with a sprung push button clasp. The gilded interior contains the original bevelled mirror, and removable power gauze. The compact comes with the original black moire silk carry bag.

Size-2.75 inches square

Weight-heavy at 150 grams.

In very good condition, this is wonderful to use for loose powder, as a handbag mirror or a pill box.

It would make an excellent gift.

Please see silver lipstick holders also available if required.
