Description

A wonderful and rare Victorian solid silver and cut glass travelling inkwell and nib box by Pittway Brothers (John & William Pittway), hallmarked London 1862. The silver tops of each, beautifully machined decoration, with attractive circular cartouche with fabulous crest, engraved Latin ‘audi alteram partem’ which translates: “Listen to the other side” or “let the other side be heard as well”.

The glass of each with star cut detail to the base.

In excellent condition throughout, no damage or restoration.
