Description

A Fine Satinwood & Mahogany Bonheur du Jour in the manner of Gillows of Lancaster, with exquisite inlays of shells, perhaps a special commission. The cupboard bears direct comparison with a signed Gillow bonheur illustrated in M. Jourdain "Georgian Cabinet Makers" (see photo no 4). The silvered handles are original.
