Rare Knox Cymric Sterling Silver Vesta Case & Chain Arts & Crafts 1905

1900 - 1920
Description

A very rare top quality solid silver match vesta case and chain. It is hallmarked for Birmingham 1905 with the makers marks being W H Hasseler. It was designed by Archibald Knox as part of the Cymric range retailed by Liberty and Co. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits and repairs. The vesta measures approx. 1.75 inches (4.6cms) wide by almost the same tall and combined with the chain weighs 54 grams. A very interesting rare example.

The Silver Squirrel has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
