English Sterling Silver / Tortoiseshell Vanity Jar - Gold & Mother of Pearl Inlaid

Description

A stunning and rarely found vanity or dressing table jar, I use this shape to store Q-Tips, it is the perfect size and shape if you want to put this gem to work.

The heavy cut crystal is multi-faceted all the way around. The lid fits well and is made from sterling silver, hallmarked for London 1927 and set with a large glossy piece of tortoiseshell with beautiful markings and colours ranging from golden Champagne to rich chocolate brown. The shell is beautifully inlaid with gold and tiny iridescent mother of pearl "jewels", this all surrounds a large central gold cartouche, which could be engraved by your silversmith if desired.

Excellent condition, measuring 3 5/8" tall; with the lid measuring 2 3/4" x 2".
