Rare English Sterling Silver Rimmed Golf Ball Match Striker 1894 Antique Novelty

Description

A superb English antique solid sterling silver rimmed match striker. It is hallmarked for Chester 1894 with the makers marks being that of Cornelius Desormeaux Saunders & James Francis Hollings (Frank) Shepherd. It has been beautifully made having a ceramic base with a sterling silver mounted rim and is in the form of a glof ball. It is is superb condition with the silver being is free from splits repairs and dings. The ceramic is free from cracks chips and repairs. It measures approx. 1.5 inches (4cm) tall by 2 inches (5cm) across and weighs 74g grams. A superb piece.

Declaration

The Silver Squirrel has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
