206g English Sterling Silver & Gold Leeds Uni Presentation Cigarette Case 1949

1940 - 1960
Description

A rare English solid sterling silver and gold cigarette case. It is hallmarked for Birmingham 1949 with the makers marks being that of W H Haseler Ltd. It has been beautifully made being engine turned to all sides and has a rose gold square band to the front. It has been internal gilding and engraved '1951 TO PROFESSOR J.D.I.HUGHES ON HIS RETIREMENT, IN GRATEFUL APPRECIATION OF HIS LONG ASSOCIATION WITH THE FACULTY OF LAW, LEEDS UNIVERSITY, FROM ALL HIS STUDENTS, BOTH PAST AND PRESENT'. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits and repairs. It measures approx. 4.75 inches (11.7cm) long by 3.5 inches (8.5cm) wide weighs 206 grams. A superbly made high-quality very interesting piece.
