Unusual Edwardian Swivel Hinge Opening Silver Stamp Case

An unusual and interesting solid silver stamp case, with a swivel hinge to open. The front & back are engraved with swirling patterns and the front bears a circular empty cartouche. Hallmarks are very clearly visible for the Chester Assay office with a date mark for 1901, Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver and silver maker''s mark:  Cornelius Desormeaux Saunders & James Francis Hollings Shepherd. There is loop at the top for attachment. 
 
 
 
An interesting item, great for a collector!
 
 
 
Condition:  In very good condition and works well.  There are some slight surface impressions to the front of the case, commensurate with age and mentioned for accuracy.
 
 
 
Hallmarks:  Chester 1901 by Cornelius Desormeaux Saunders & James Francis Hollings Shepherd
