Stunning Large Antique English Lemonade / Water Jug or Pitcher C.1900

Description

An exceptional and very grand looking Victorian Lemonade or Water jug made from silver plate with exquisite decoration.

The bottom section of the jug body is embossed in a fluted design and above this is engraved with floral and foliate vignettes and large scrolls back and front created two large cartouche. One is engraved with a highly decorative monogram, I think reading G B S A. The interior is gilded (gold washed) to protect the silver surface from liquids.

An elegant fruitwood handle finishes off this impressive centrepiece. The underside is marked, I am unfamiliar with the makers mark which looks like a Menorah or candelabra, the bottom too is impressed "England".

Superb condition, measuring 11" tall to top of handle and 10" spout to handle.
