A Rare Edwardian Novelty Silver Coal Scuttle Thimble Holder & Thimble

An exquisite and rare example of Edwardian sewing ware. The superb novelty holder is formed to represent a coal scuttle, with a hinged handle and ribbed plinth base. There is a fitted interior for a hallmarked silver thimble (included). The silver thimble is contemporary, assayed in Chester and by the great Charles Horner. A fine and most unusual collector's piece, usable today. Dimensions below.
