Large Threaded Glass Match Strike / Table Vesta - Sterling Silver 1919

Description

Larger than most, this is a substantial tabletop matchstrike in glass and sterling silver.

The threaded glass surface would have been struck with a non-safety match on the textured surface; rather than today's modern safety matches.

The English solid or sterling silver match holder is hallmarked for Birmingham 1919, together with the makers mark for William Aitken.

Excellent condition with a few tiny fleabites to the surface, which is normal for this type of strike. Measures 3 1/4" in diameter x 3 1/4" tall.
