Rare Turnbull Crested English Sterling Silver Skewer Letter Opener 1792

Description

A rare Georgian solid sterling silver skewer (now generally used as letter openers). It is hallmarked for London 1792 with the maker’s marks being rubbed. It has a been superbly designed being engraved with a bulls head crest used by both the Turnbull and Bulkeley Families. it is in super condition being free from dings splits and repairs. It measures approx. 7 inches (18cms) long and weighs 26 grams. A rare example.
