Antique English Leather Covered Travelling Inkwell - Sterling Silver Mount: 1908

Description

A charming little travel inkwell covered in a deep Burgundy coloured leather and topped with a sterling silver mount hallmarked for the highly sought-after Chester assay office and the date letter for the year 1908; the makers initials are also present CS*FS for the well regarded silversmith, Cornelius Desormeaux Saunders & James Francis Hollings -Frank- Shepherd.

There is a front button which releases the lid, the interior is lined in a nickel with a catch to the right-hand side which releases the lid to the removable glass ink chamber.

Excellent condition, with minor wear to leather surface commensurate with age, measuring 2" in diameter.
