Description

An elegant George III sterling silver épergne by Francis Crump, hallmarked London 1765. This handsome centrepiece consists of an oval frame, the centre beautifully pierced and complimented by applied cast decoration, all supported on four beautiful legs with cast pad dolphin style feet. It has four detachable scrolling arms, each with the original and matching circular baskets. Each arm being numbered so it sits in its correct socket. The large centre basket sits neatly at the top of the pierced body. This beautiful épergne is in superb condition with clear hallmarks and wonderful crisp decoration.

Each smaller basket bears the lion passant mark with makers mark for Francis Crump. The large basket and stand have full hallmarks and matching makers mark for Francis Crump. Each arm bears the lion passant.

This centerpiece weighs a cumulative 2,727 grams comprising of 1,300 grams for the base, 482 grams for the centre basket, 628 grams for the four baskets and 317 grams for the four arms.
