A Rare 18th Century Sheffield Assayed Silver Caddy Spoon

This delightful example is an 18th Century silver caddy spoon. 18th Century silver hallmarked in Sheffield is rather rare, as the Assay Office only opened for business in 1773. This charming piece is typical of early Sheffield work, with a charmingly crude bright cut engraved handle and a shaped shell bowl. A lovely and practical early piece, both for the collector and the tea enthusiast. Dimensions below.
