Victorian Silver Heart Shaped Pill Box Birmingham 1900 Adie & Lovekin Ltd

An extremely pretty Victorian solid silver pill box. Shaped as a heart this pill box has a lovely ornamented repousse lid, with a small empty cartouche in the centre. The box is hinged on the right-hand side and opens and closes perfectly. When opened it reveals a lovely gilded interior. Very clear hallmarks for the Birmingham Assay Office are visible on the inside base, with a date mark for 1900 and Lion Passant indicating sterling silver. The silversmith's maker's marks are also very clear for Adie & Lovekin Ltd. The Lion Passant and date mark can also be seen on the side of the lid.

 

Condition: In lovely condition.
