English Victorian Sterling Silver Crested Cutlery Rests C1850s Antique 80g

19th century
Description

A superbly designed pair of English solid sterling silver cutlery rests. They are hallmarked with the lion passant mark, the Victoria head mark and the makers mark of possibly Alexander Hewat. I would date them to c1850s. They have been beautifully designed and have been engraved with a crest very similar to that of the Casement family. They are in superb condition being free from dings splits and repairs. They measure approx. 2.75 inches (7cms) long by 1.5 inches (3.7cms) tall and have a combined weight of 80 grams. Very good quality beautiful examples.
