This is a wonderful pair of solid sterling silver-mounted Ecclesiastical claret jugs.
They are clearly hallmarked for London 1918, with the maker''s mark for specialist maker J Wippell & Co Ltd.
The heavy plain glass bodies stand on large circular pedestal bases. The silver mounts, handles and circlets are firmly attached. They are in superb condition. As the claret jugs do not feature any form of religious icon, the jugs would serve very well as individual claret jugs or noggins. Their capacity is 200ml each.
