A very pretty antique Tabriz carpet, with gentle pale blues and an off white central area. Delightful pale blue medallion and accent colours of pale yellow and pinks. A very decorative carpet around 100 years old.
Small areas of minimal wear are evident but nothing significant, it actually adds to the charm of this old classical carpet. No rips or tears, it has had new fringes sewn on at some point at both ends, which could be removed if preferred. Supplied with our high quality underlay, this helps preserve the carpets and stops movement on many different floor types.

During the beginning of the 20th century, workshops such as Benlian successfully reinterpreted classic artistic rugs of the 16th/17th century Safavid period and created some of the best quality carpets for the European market. This beautiful antique Tabriz is not signed with the famous ''Star'' motif of the Benlian workshop but it is of similar high quality and has been signed by the weaver.
