A quality English solid sterling silver mounted noggin jug. It is hallmarked for Sheffield 1904 with the makers marks being that of Lee & Wigfull (Henry Wigfull). It has been beautifully made having a glass base and a sterling silver mounted spout and lid. It was used to hold a small amount of whisky or brandy on a bedside of fireside table rather then use the large decanter. This example is a more unusual shape. It is is superb condition with the silver being is free from splits repairs and dings. The glass is free from cracks chips and repairs. It measures approx. 3 inches (7.6cms) tall to the lid by 2.75 inches (5.6cms) spout to handle by approx. 1.75 inches (4.5cms) wide and weighs 66 grams. A beautiful usable piece.
