Victorian Sterling Silver Johnson Family Crested Stilton Cheese Scoop 1848

Description

A superb early Victorian solid sterling silver soft cheese or Stilton scoop. It is hallmarked for London 1848 with the makers marks being GA for George Adams. It has been superbly designed being engraved with a crest of a spur between wings, this is used by the Johnson family as well as the Bonniman and Wailes Family. It is in super condition having no dings splits distortions or repairs. It measures approx. 7 inches (17.6cms) long by 1.25 inches (3cms) wide and weighs 42 grams. A very interesting piece.
