Sheffield 1907 Large Solid Silver Soup Ladle by Famous Makers James Dixon and Sons.

Description

Sheffield 1907 English hallmarked solid silver large and heavy soup ladle in the Old English pattern by famous makers James Dixon and Sons.

Nice long curved handle and egg shaped bowl, made in a heavy gauge of silver lend classic styling to this ladle. The elegant form will blend with any cutlery and look lovely on the table or in a soup tureen. Its size is impressive.

Size-13.75 inches long by 4 1/8 inches wide.

Weight-270 grams.

Considering the value of just the scrap weight of this ladle, this is a wonderful value, as silver prices continue to soar.

In very good condition, with very clear hallmarks and just the usual light surface scratching, this is a good example of Edwardian period craftsmanship. It will look equally at home with contemporary decoration today.
