Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson (1876-1955): A Rare Oak Cow Stool, Made in the 1930s

1920 - 1940
Description

The undulating kidney-shaped top on chamfered, tapering legs, one carved in relief with a signature mouse. Excellent condition overall and structurally rock solid, the odd isolated and minor, dent/scratch/surface blemish.

Provenance: Dr. Harry 'Jock' Addison, Thirsk GP and friend of James Herriot who appeared in several of the 'All Creatures Great and Small' stories as Dr Harry Allison, thence by descent.
