Antique English Waisted Biscuit Barrel / Box C.1880

Description

A highly decorative English biscuit / cookie jar dating to the Victorian era, around 1880. The glass is cut at the top and bottom of the waisted portion with tiny oval cuts and between this beautifully finished with a plethora of acid etched decoration.

The collar, folding handle and lid is made from silver plate (in excellent condition). The lid has a very decorative engraved design and an attractive finial finishes off this package. Excellent condition, with a base diameter measuring 5 3/4" and stands 6 3/4" excluding handle.
