Antique English Fern Engraved Basket - Silver Plate C.1880

Description

A highly decorative Victorian silver plated basket with a folding handle and standing on four regal claw and ball feet.

The basket is beautifully decorated with variety of Ferns, always highly prized being so Victorian and so very English. The intricate work surrounds a central oval cartouche which could be engraved by your silversmith should you so wish.

There is a makers mark on the underside which is hard to decipher and not one I recognise, certainly Sheffield and dating to the late nineteenth century.

Excellent condition, measuring 10 3/4" x 8" x 8 1/2" to top of carrying handle.
