Woodbridge Antiques has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
Hallmarks are clearly visible for the Sheffield Assay office with a date mark for 1894, Lion Passant indicating fine sterling silver, and the maker's mark for the silversmith: Martin, Hall & Co.

The Napkin Ring sits in the lovely maroon original circular leatherette case which is in super condition. The inside of the case is lined with blue coloured satin and velvet and the name and address 'H Burgess South Norwood'.
