Art Deco Silver and Marcasite Brooch

1920 - 1940
Description

This Deco brooch is utterly stylish , in the form of a leaping big cat , I assume a leopard or a cheetah…. The styling of the piece has left little to the imagination.

The big cat is wearing a large collar and even the details of claws and eyes are clear to see.

The head and paws have originally been gilded ( which is why I think leopard!) but as time has marched by most of the gilding has worn away and whilst intact and overall pristine the marcasite is all intact.

The overall length is approx 3 inches /7cm
