Italian Micro-mosaic 19th Century Necklace.

19th century
Description

A truly detailed piece of micro mosaic jewellery.

These pieces are quite reflective of the “grand tour” period, when Europe was becoming an increasingly popular destination for tourists.

Reflective of the Roman mosaics and Roman ruins in Italy … micro-mosaic jewellery became a popular tourists souvenir.

This necklace has tell-tale sign of origin stamp partly visible on the reverse and has a language of flowers gesture identified with a red rose for love and a forget-me-not…

A gift for a loved one, it has been cherished and remains in perfect detail.

The wired boundaries of the design are twisted and the drops have a Byzantine style.

Chain and clasp are in good order.

Overall length 42cm /16.5inches

Happy to ship world wide

Uk mainland tracked and insured shipping free of charge.
