Antique Victorian Sterling Silver Butter Shells

A pair of antique Victorian sterling silver butter shells which are scallop shape in design with attractive shell detailing to the bodies and each resting on three ball feet. They still have the original silver butter knives, with pretty decoration, perfectly designed to sit in the dishes. These silver butter shells would be ideal to use at either end of the table and have been made to a high standard. They fit neatly in the original box. They weigh 5 troy ounces (158 grams).

Width: 10.5 cms (4.1'')
 
Length of each knife: 13.1 cms (5.2'')
 
They were hallmarked in Sheffield for 1892 by James Dixon & Sons and they remain in excellent condition.
