Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1900s.
The silver is beautifully decorated, very elegant with a double raised border and mounted on the top with the most exquisite mount with a central shell with floral and foliate scrolls either side.
The silver bears a full English hallmark for Birmingham 1907 together with the makers mark HM for Henry Matthews. The central glass is the original with a bevelled edge, the glass being in excellent condition with only minor surface wear.
A grand and pretty Edwardian example, measuring 9" tall x 7 1/2" across with glass having a diameter of 6".
