Antique Edwardian Sterling Silver Money Box

An Antique Edwardian Sterling silver money box which has been designed in the form of a barrel with lined detailing to the mainly plain body, a hinged lid with a clasp to keep it closed and resting on a flat base. There is a slot at the top of the lid to add the money and the interior has been lined to deaden the sound of dropping coins. This novelty money box would make an ideal addition to a collection and would make a perfect gift. These boxes are not easy to find and this particular example remains in excellent condition.
 
Height : 9.8 cms (3.9'').
 
Diameter of body : 7.4 cms (2.9'').
 
It was hallmarked in Birmingham for 1902 by Saunders & Shepherd.
