Very decorative and of good quality French late 19th century walnut and gilt X frame stool in the Louis XV style, circa 1880 to 1900.
This is a generous size stool, very suitable for a dressing table, window seat, piano stool or as additional seating when required in a living room for example.
The frame is well carved and solid, the carvings being highlighted with a hint of gold looks super.
The spring seat is in good condition and supports you well, being sprung it depresses when you sit on it so the height is good for a dressing table.
The current upholstery is vintage, very pretty and looks good although there are some very light water marks and one area of depression which I would imagine will right itself over time ( most likely happened whilst it’s travelled )…certainly looks great as is, but no problem for me to arrange re upholstery if you would prefer.
Priced as it is here in the pics.
Measuring:
21 inches or 53 cm maximum cushion height
24 1/2 inches
...or 62 cm square
