An antique Victorian sterling silver cutlery set which has been designed in the fiddle pattern style for six persons and consists of:
6 x table knives: 24.7 cms (9.7'') in length
6 x dessert knives: 22.2 cms (8.7'') in length
6 x table forks: 20.2 cms (8'') in length
6 x dessert forks: 17.7 cms (7'') in length
6 x table/soup spoons: 21.7 cms (8.5'') in length
6 x dessert spoons: 18.2 cms (7.2'') in length
6 x teaspoons: 14.1 cms (5.6'') in length
2 x sauce ladles: 18.2 cms (7.2'') in length
This fine silver set has been made by George Adams and ranges in date between 1852 - 1872. It has been well cared for over the years, would grace any dining table and would be practical to use. The replacement silver handled knives with stainless steel blades are an ideal match for this fiddle pattern set and compliment the rest of the silver items very well. There are some useful cloth wraps to help keep this set clean and tidy and there are 44 pieces
...in total. It weighs 57.7 troy ounces (1,795 grams) excluding the silver knives.
It was hallmarked in London for 1852 - 1872 by George Adams and remains in excellent condition.
