Superb Large Silver Vesta Case Chester 1901

A very handsome larger than average sized solid silver Vesta Case. This very stylish Vesta is a simple plain polished silver with no engraving or embossing and has lovely rounded edges and is slightly convex, so feels tactile and lovely to hold in the hand. It has a hinged lid and opens and closes perfectly with a nice 'snap'. Hallmarks are visible on the inside lip of the Vesta with partial marks on the lid, for the Chester Assay office with a date mark for 1901 and Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver. The silver maker's mark is also visible for Nathan & Hayes. The striker is at the bottom edge.

 

Condition: A super Vesta case in lovely antique collector's condition. (There is one minute surface dent to the front commensurate with age and mentioned for complete accuracy only, it does not detract from the item.)
