Woodbridge Antiques has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
It has a hinged lid and opens and closes perfectly with a nice 'snap'. Hallmarks are visible on the inside lip of the Vesta with partial marks on the lid, for the Chester Assay office with a date mark for 1901 and Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver. The silver maker's mark is also visible for Nathan & Hayes. The striker is at the bottom edge.

Condition: A super Vesta case in lovely antique collector's condition. (There is one minute surface dent to the front commensurate with age and mentioned for complete accuracy only, it does not detract from the item.)
