Description

A wonderful rare cased pair of English solid sterling silver serving spoons. They are hallmarked for Birmingham 1919 with the makers marks being those of Elkington & Co Ltd. They have been beautifully made in an earlier 17th century style with the back of the bowls being decorated with the trefid lace back pattern and the terminals having an unusual mask design. They are in superb condition being free from dings splits and repairs, the case is also superb. The spoons measure approx. 8.5 inches (21.5cms) long by 2 inches (4.9cms) wide and have a combined weight of 172 grams (excluding the case). Beautifully made top quality very interesting examples.
