A superb rare Irish Georgian solid sterling silver Rat Tail basting spoon. It is hallmarked for Dublin 1822 with the makers marks being M.West for Matthew West. It has been superbly designed and has been interestingly engraved with a lion - this is the crest of the Blunden Family. It is in super condition having no dings splits distortions or repairs. It measures approx. 11.5 inches (29.2cms) long by 2.25 inches (5.8cms) wide and weighs 142 grams. A very impressive and interesting piece.
