A beautiful rare English solid sterling silver travelling inkwell. It is hallmarked for London 1874 with the makers marks being JH for possibly John Hawley & Son. It has been superbly made with the silver lid being engraved with a scroll design and the cartouche engraved with initials. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits chips cracks and repairs. It measures approx. 2.75 inches (7cms) long by 1.25 inches (3cms) wide by 1.5 inches (3.8cms) tall and weighs 124 grams. A beautifully made rare piece.
