A very rare English solid sterling silver table salt cellar. It is hallmarked for London 1919 with the makers mark being D&JW for D&J Wellby Ltd. It has been superbly made being engraved with the salters company crest along with the inscription 'The Gift of the Salters Company commemorating the victory of the Allies in the Great War 1914-1918'.It is in superb condition being free from dings splits and repairs, light marks. It measures approx. 3.5 inches (8.7cms) across the top by 2.5 inches (6.4cms) tall and weighs 226 grams. A superbly designed rare and interesting example.
