An Outstanding Imperial Russian Silver Gilt Cigarette Case

An outstanding silver cigarette case from Imperial Russia. This superb example is of heavy gauge silver, with an amethyst clasp. The front has repousse decoration featuring a period romantic scene, surrounded by garlands and foliage. The clasp is strong and the interior is fully gilded. A lovely, superior quality piece both collectable and practical. Dimensions below.

Condition :- Excellent, with no splits, dents or breaks to the silver. The hinge and clasp are strong. Some light scuffing to the back, commensurate with age and use.

Hallmarks :- Clear and readable. Fineness mark and Maker's mark.

Date :- Moscow 1887-1905.
